Safety: preparing for the mountains

Freeriding is about freedom, but it's also about responsibility.
Before you set off, make sure you're well equipped and well informed:

  • Mandatory equipment: avalanche beacon, shovel, probe and helmet.

  • Recommended training: introduction to avalanche transceiver search and safety techniques.

  • Check conditions: avalanche bulletins and weather forecasts are posted every morning at the Tourist Office and lift stations.

  • Never go off on your own: opt for supervised or group outings, and always inform someone of your itinerary.

The resort provides a DVA test area and works with mountain professionals to ensure that all riders learn the right reflexes.
Because at Puy Saint Vincent , freeriding is hard work, but it has to be well prepared.
